Bio
Hi. I’m Tracy Groot. Here are a few more bullet points:
- I was born, raised, and live near Grand Rapids, Michigan. Michigan’s Upper Peninsula is my favorite place on earth. The Mackinac Straits, the islands, Whitefish Point, Pictured Rocks, the Porcupine Mountains (should be Porcupine Hills; whoever called them mountains never made it to Colorado), the pasties, the fudge, the beauty.
- I like woods. And backpacking.
- I love books, chess, good coffee, knitting, and baked goods.
- My heroes include Rich Mullins, Raoul Wallenberg, and Corrie TenBoom.
- My favorite authors are…don’t get me started.
- I love to travel when I’ve got the money. Love to research for books. Love to be outside. Love to be inside, too.
- My predominantly male household includes my husband Jack, three sons, Evan, Grayson, and Riley, and a manipulative Jack Russell named Murphy.

- My character flaws include anger when beaten at chess (John Huss, one of the forerunners of the Reformation, had the same problem so I don’t feel so bad), procrastination, and jumping to conclusions.
- I’d like to visit Australia someday and hang with my friend Sharon. New Zealand, too, so I can find some Lord of the Rings woods and run through them like Frodo on a mission.
- I’m allergic to kiwifruit.
